I helped judge the contest, along with MFA candidates LuLing Osofsky and Kristen Gunther. I’ve never judged anything before–it’s a little like editing, I suppose, though it’s less about finding what you love and more about picking the best of what you love. That’s a weird feeling, finding the best.

That said, I’m so looking forward to hearing the winners read. You should come!
